State League top team - Mackay Meteors (14-3) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Ipswich Force (8-9) 96-68. Mackay Meteors forced 19 Ipswich Force turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Ipswich Force's players. The former international swingman Todd Blanchfield (200-91) scored 28 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward Cameron Tragardh (209-83, college: ORU) chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Sudanese swingman James Kuon (201-91) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Garrett Hall (190-94, college: Saginaw Valley) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mackay Meteors maintains first position in League with 14-3 record. Loser Ipswich Force dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. Mackay Meteors will face South West Metro Pirates (#7) in Runcorn in the next round where they are favorite. Ipswich Force will play on the road against Rollers in Gold Coast and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
