We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Hawthorn where one of their biggest challengers Magic (14-8) was rolled over by fifth ranked McKinnon C. (13-9) 101-78 on Saturday. McKinnon C. forced 21 Magic turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Naturalized South Sudanese forward Deng Deng (203-92, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) scored 31 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Jermaine Maybank (193-82, college: Kansas St.) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Five McKinnon C. players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Nelson Kirksey (190-89, college: UMKC) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and forward Alex Bogart-King (200) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Magic's coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. McKinnon C. maintains fifth position in League with 13-9 record. Loser Magic keeps the fourth place with eight games lost.
