Regular Season Round 22: Hills H. - Hornsby S. 112-65

There was no surprise in Baulkham Hills where 10th ranked Spiders (3-16) were outplayed by third ranked Hills Hornets (14-5) 112-65 on Saturday. Hills Hornets dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Spiders' 48. Hills Hornets forced 24 Spiders turnovers and outrebounded them 55-35 including a 43-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hills Hornets looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Spiders' players. Adrian Cabrera scored 15 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized British forward Paul Brotherson (198-89, college: Metro St.) chipped in 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Hills Hornets' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Matthew McElhone responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Matthew Horsley scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Five Hills Hornets and four Spiders players scored in double figures. Hills Hornets maintains third position in League with 14-5 record having just two point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Spiders keep the tenth place with 16 games lost. Hills Hornets will face Sutherland Sharks (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Spiders will play against Bankstown Bruins and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
