Everything went according to plan in Loganholme where eleventh ranked Logan Thunder (6-11) outscored bottom-ranked Mountaineers (0-17) 107-66 on Sunday. The game without a history. Logan Thunder led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Mountaineers' 28 and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Logan Thunder forced 19 Mountaineers turnovers and outrebounded them 44-33 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Logan Thunder looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Mountaineers' players. Forward Zitina Aokuso (192-98) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for the winners and swingman Mikhaela Donnelly (177-94) chipped in 12 points, 12 rebounds and 18 assists. Four Logan Thunder players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Donnaizha Fountain (183, college: Seton Hall, agency: Gamble Sports Management) with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and Jasmine Gardiner scored 12 points. Logan Thunder maintains eleventh place in League with 6-11 record. Loser Mountaineers still closes the standings with 17 games lost. Logan Thunder will face Power (#14) in Gladstone in the next round. Mountaineers will play on the road against Rollers in Gold Coast and hope to get finally their first victory.
