No shocking result in a game when second ranked Saigon Heat (7-4) beat at home 5th ranked Danang Dragons (3-8) 102-90 on Sunday. Saigon Heat had a 34-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American Tavarion Nix (201, college: Midwestern St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. Center Khoa Tran-Dang accounted for 30 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Saigon Heat players scored in double figures. American forward Chris Dierker (201, college: Madonna) came up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import forward Zach Allmon (203, college: Vanguard) added 31 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Danang Dragons in the defeat. Danang Dragons' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Saigon Heat maintains second place with 7-4 record having just one point less than leader Can Tho CF. Danang Dragons lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Saigon Heat will meet at home Thang Long W. (#4) in the next round. Danang Dragons will play against Thang Long W. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
