Regular Season Round 4: Amatitlan - ELOHIM 75-93

Bottom-ranked Amatitlan (0-2) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their second consecutive match to top-ranked ELOHIM (2-0) 93-75. It was a great shooting night for ELOHIM especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by naturalized Salvadorean guard Ricardo Amaya (191-84) who scored that evening 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard David Monterroso (180-79) supported him with 20 points and 10 rebounds. ELOHIM's coach Estuardo Arriola used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by Jose Valenzuela (-95) did not help to save the game for Amatitlan. Walter Ramirez (-97) added 21 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Four Amatitlan players scored in double figures. ELOHIM keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Club Force. Amatitlan at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with La Villa and Pampichi. ELOHIM will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Amatitlan will play at home against Villa Nueva (#5) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
