Regular Season Round 23: Henan - Guangxi 98-96

The most exciting game of round 23 in the NBL took place in Henan. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Guangxi (18-4) to eighth ranked Henan (11-11) 98-96 on Wednesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Guangxi. Henan forced 21 Guangxi turnovers. American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: IPFW) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. Guard Yuxing Jiang (195-95) contributed with 18 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Henan players scored in double figures. American center Isaiah Austin (216-93, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-92, college: N.Mexico St.) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Guangxi. Guangxi's coach Dah-Tzong Chiou rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Henan moved-up to seventh place. Guangxi at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Hunan. Henan are looking forward to face Fujian (#9) in Fuzhou in the next round. Guangxi will play on the road against Luoyang (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
