Regular Season Round 8: HCMC W. - Saigon H. 79-100

The game in Hochiminh supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Saigon Heat (8-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Hochiminh CW (1-10). Saigon Heat smashed Hochiminh CW 100-79 on Thursday. Saigon Heat dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Hochiminh CW's 50. They outrebounded Hochiminh CW 38-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American Tavarion Nix (201, college: Midwestern St.) who helped to win the game recording 45 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Minh Trieu-Han who added 18 points during the contest. American forward Quinton Doggett (206-90, college: Southern) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Corey Cilia (178, college: Cal-Santa Cruz) scored 24 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Saigon Heat maintains second position with 8-5 record having just one point less than leader Can Tho CF. Loser Hochiminh CW stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Saigon Heat will face league's leader Can Tho CF at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hochiminh CW will play against Hanoi B. (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
