Barcelona had a 35-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. American John Shodipo (196-88, college: DuPage JC) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Keith Bowman (201-91, college: Menlo, agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Shodipo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American forward Malik Jenkins (201-89) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and Venezuelan power forward Jean Pierre (205-91) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Barcelona is looking forward to face Portoviejo (#4) in Portviejo in the next round. Triple E-Uda will play against ABC (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
