Very predictable result in Nanjin where sixth ranked Wuhan (13-9) smashed 14th ranked Hefei (2-20) 124-100 on Friday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 124-100. Wuhan dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Hefei's 56 and made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Hefei 42-25 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Ukrainian center Vladyslav Koreniuk (210-94, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 51 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (on 21-of-26 shooting from the field) and American swingman Devin Green (201-82, college: Hampton, agency: Interperformances) who added 25 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Dwayne Lathan (190-89, college: Indiana St.) with 28 points and his fellow American import center Eric Thompson (204-93, college: Pacific) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wuhan have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Wuhan maintains sixth position with 13-9 record. Hefei lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 20 games lost. Wuhan will face higher ranked Anhui (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hefei will play against the league's second-placed Hunan (#2) and hope to win that game.
