Regular Season Round 24: Henan - Fujian 95-98

A very interesting game took place in Henan. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Henan (11-12) to ninth ranked Fujian (11-12) 98-95 in the fight for the seventh place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Henan. It looked good early as Henan took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Fujian had a 30-22 second period charge getting the lead and Henan was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 95-98. Fujian made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Henan 56-45 including 19 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for American guard Antoine Mason (191-92, college: Auburn) who led his team to a victory with 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. The other American import center Amir Williams (211-92, college: Ohio St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 20 rebounds for the winners. Guard Longfei Wang (190-91) replied with 35 points (!!!) and guard Yuxing Jiang (195-95) added 18 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Henan. Four Henan players scored in double figures. Henan's coach JianXin Li tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Fujian have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hebei X. and Henan. Fujian's next round opponent will be Luoyang (#11) on the road.
