Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Lagomar (#10) and Auriblanco (#14). Lagomar (7-7) won against visiting Auriblanco (1-13) 79-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Auriblanco. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 29-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Lagomar looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lagomar made 7 blocks. It was a very good performance for Gonzalo Alvarez who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American power forward Brian Moultrie (198-87, college: Armstr.Atlantic) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Brazilian forward Rodrigo Goncalves (203-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and swingman Rodrigo Xavier (184-95) added 16 points in the effort for Auriblanco. Lagomar will face O Mundial (#11) in the next round. Auriblanco will play against Colon and hope to win that game.
