Second Stage Round 1: O Mundial - Tabare 79-73

Rather expected game when Tabare (2-2) lost on the road to O Mundial (6-8) 79-73 on Thursday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Quite impressive performance for guard Ivan Arbildi (187-89) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. American center Dwayne Curtis (203-85, college: Mississippi) contributed with 8 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American Tony Criswell (205-91, college: Missouri) answered with 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and forward Emiliano Serres (205-97) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Tabare. Four Tabare players scored in double figures. Tabare's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. O Mundial will face Lagomar (#10) in Montevideo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tabare will play on the road against Larre Borges in Montevideo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
