Everything could happen in Nanjin at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Hefei and 15th ranked Jiangsu had identical 2-23 record. This time Hefei used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from He Fei 95-86 on Sunday night. American center Eric Thompson (204-93, college: Pacific) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points, 34 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. The other American import guard Dwayne Lathan (190-89, college: Indiana St.) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. British center Morakinyo Williams (210-88, college: Citadel) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds and forward MingYang Gao (196-88) added 20 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Hefei maintains fourteenth position with 3-23 record. Jiangsu lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games. Hefei will meet at home higher ranked Hebei X. (#7) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
