Regular Season Round 28: Fujian - Anhui 95-97

Ninth-ranked Fujian (12-14) gave a tough game to second ranked Anhui (21-5) in Fuzhou on Sunday. The visitors from Anhui managed to secure only two-point victory 97-95. However their fans expected much easier game. Anhui forced 25 Fujian turnovers and had a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Fujian helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (208-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and American forward DeQuan Jones (203-90, college: Miami, FL) who added 28 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Anhui's coach Changsuo Xu used entire bench in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Antoine Mason (191-92, college: Auburn) responded with 35 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Wenbo Yang (196-90) scored 24 points. Four Fujian players scored in double figures. Anhui have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-5 record having just two points less than leader Shaanxi X., which they share with Hunan. Fujian at the other side keeps the ninth place with 14 games lost. Anhui is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Jiangsu (#15) in He Fei in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Fujian will play on the road against the league's leader Shaanxi X. (#1) in Xian and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
