Regular Season Round 4: Portoviejo - ABC 84-59

Round 4 in National League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Portviejo where host Portoviejo (2-0) crushed league's leader ABC (1-1) 84-59 on Tuesday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Portoviejo dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to ABC's 32. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Lovell Cook (201-90, college: New Orleans) fired 29 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Point guard Jordan Johnson (183-92, college: Tenn Tech) chipped in 24 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Desmond Lee (193-90, college: NC State) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Lonnie Robinson (199-90, college: Fair Dickinson) added 23 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Portoviejo keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. ABC at the other side dropped to the fifth place with one game lost. They share the position with Piratas. They were replaced at the leadership position by Barcelona. ABC will play next round against Juvenil trying to make it back to the top of the standings.
