Regular Season Round 4: Iccan - Juvenil 70-62

Bottom-ranked Juvenil (0-2) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 70-62 loss to top-ranked Iccan (2-0) in Guayaquil. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The winners were led by Cuban forward Darol Hernandez (206-89) who scored that evening 14 points and 9 rebounds and Colombian-Venezuelan swingman Cesar Silva (190-81) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Iccan players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 5 rebounds by American forward Logan Hovey (200-94, college: SW Baptist) did not help to save the game for Juvenil. His fellow American import center Randy Phillips (203-95, college: Radford) added 12 points and 13 rebounds for lost side. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Juvenil at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. Iccan's next round opponent will be Piratas (#6) in Ibarra where they are favorite. Juvenil will play on the road against ABC in Santo Domingo and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
