Gembo BBC managed to escape with a 3-point win 84-81 on Saturday evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gembo BBC made 21 blocks. Jens Bouckaert (-91) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and center Anthony Vermeersch (202-90) accounted for 20 points and 10 rebounds. Five Gembo BBC players scored in double figures. Guard Stijn Stevens (181-94) came up with 19 points and 5 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Laurent Lhote (182-84) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Gent Hawks in the defeat. Gembo BBC will meet at home Sijsele (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gent Hawks will play against Ieper and hope to win that game.
