Very significant was Aguilas' 73-65 road victory against Halcones. Halcones were ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 41-32 second half run of Aguilas. Halcones were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Daniel King (203-87, college: Texas Southern) nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and Manuel Guevara (186-81) accounted for 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Tyler Gaskins (193-92, college: St.Peter's) came up with 20 points and 9 assists and the former international forward Anell Alexis (200-90, college: Marist) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Halcones in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Aguilas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Panama City to the arena Panteras.
