Tenerife Naut. used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Rivas 72-56 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Tenerife Naut.. Rivas was better in second period 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Rivas to just 7 points in third quarter. Center Jorge Del-Pino (-96) stepped up and scored 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Slovenian forward Tim Tomazic (201-99) chipped in 14 points. At the losing side swingman Ruben Martinez (196-85) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Pablo Marinan (200-86) scored 11 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Tenerife Naut. will face CB Guadalajara (#4) on the road in the next round. Rivas will play against Casvi (#11) and hope to win that game.
