The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Daimiel (0-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Quintanar (1-0) 68-51. Quintanar outrebounded Daimiel 48-32 including 17 on the offensive glass. Senegalese Serigne Ndiaye (-98) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Colombian forward Jhan Paul Mejia (208-94, college: Charleston) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Jose Luis Otero (203-89) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Julian Lewis (196, college: Lewis) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Quintanar is looking forward to face Gran Canaria II (#3) in Las Palmas in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Daimiel will play on the road against Estudiantes B (#2) in Madrid and is hoping to win this game.
