Regular Season Round 2: Chalons-Reims - Fos-Provence 81-80

A very interesting game took place in Reims. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of Provence Basket (0-2) to Chalons-Reims (1-1) 81-80 on Tuesday evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Provence Basket helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Devin Ebanks (206-89, college: W.Virginia) notched 24 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and American-Czech swingman Blake Schilb (201-83, college: Loyola, IL) supported him with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds by American swingman Malik Hairston (198-87, college: Oregon) did not help to save the game for Provence Basket. His fellow American import Ronald Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) added 12 points for the guests. Four Chalons-Reims and five Provence Basket players scored in double figures. Provence Basket's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Chalons-Reims' next round opponent will be JSF Nanterre (#6) on the road. Provence Basket will play against JDA Dijon (#3) and hope to win that game.
