Regular Season Round 1: Tokyo HT - Tokyo Z 63-87

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tokyo: Tokyo Z (#5) and Tokyo HT (#4). Tokyo HT was crushed at home by 24 points 63-87 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Tokyo Z dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo HT's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds. Center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Four Tokyo Z players scored in double figures. Tokyo Z's coach Satoru Furuta felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and swingman LeBryan Nash (201-92, college: Oklahoma St.) added 22 points in the effort for Tokyo HT. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
