Regular Season Round 1: Miedzychod - SMS PZKosz 82-53

Miedzychod used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Wladyslawowo 82-53 on Saturday night. Miedzychod forced 23 SMS PZKosz turnovers. Mikolaj Smarzy (191-99) fired 23 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Swingman Jakub Nowak (188-89) chipped in 16 points. Forward Patryk Stankowski (192-0) produced 15 points and power forward Pawel Kopycki (204-0) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Miedzychod will face Gniezno (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SMS PZKosz will play against AZS UMK Torun and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
