Regular Season Round 1: Obradoiro - Burgos 91-81

An interesting game took place in Santiago de Comp where Burgos (0-1) was upset on the court of Blusens Monbus (1-0) 91-81. The game was mostly controlled by Blusens Monbus. Burgos was better in fourth quarter 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Burgos 35-24 including 20 on the defensive glass. Blusens Monbus players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Nacho Llovet (202-91) who helped to win the game recording 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Greek swingman Kostas Vasiliadis (200-84) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Blusens Monbus players scored in double figures. Uruguayan point guard Bruno Fitipaldo (183-91, agency: Pro Sports) answered with 11 points and 5 assists and Slovenian Vlatko Cancar (201-97, agency: BeoBasket) added 13 points in the effort for Burgos. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Blusens Monbus' next round opponent will be Gran Canaria (#14) in Las Palmas which should be an easy win for them. Burgos will play at home against Baskonia and hope to win that game.
