Regular Season Round 3: Gravelines - ASVEL 84-96

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Gravelines-Dunkerque (2-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (3-0) 96-84. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket shot 61.0 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American swingman David Lighty (198-88, college: Ohio St.) who led his team to a victory with 28 points. Croatian center Miro Bilan (213-89, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket players scored in double figures. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Karvel Anderson (188-91, college: Robert Morris) answered with 23 points and the other American import Scott Wood (198-90, college: NC State, agency: BeoBasket) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Gravelines-Dunkerque. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket is looking forward to face Provence Basket (#18) in Fos-sur-Mer in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play on the road against Levallois (#7) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
