Gornik used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Prudnik 82-76 on Saturday night. Gornik dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Pogon Prudnik's 22. Gornik had a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Pogon Prudnik was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for the former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Jakub Der (192-96, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Forward Wojciech Pisarczyk (201-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Marcin Sroka (201-81, agency: Promotex) added 21 points in the effort for Pogon Prudnik. Four Pogon Prudnik players scored in double figures. Gornik will face STK Czarni (#7) in Slupsk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pogon Prudnik will play at home against Biofarm PZN and hope to win that game.
