Regular Season Round 2: Fukushima - Sendai 89ers 67-79

The most surprising game was a loss of Fukushima (1-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Sendai 89ers (1-1) 79-67. They made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. American forward Tyler Harris (208-93, college: Auburn) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with 8 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American power forward Evan Ravenel (204-89, college: Ohio St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Shinya Murakami (172-91) added 13 points in the effort for Fukushima. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sendai 89ers is looking forward to face Nishinomiya S. (#5) in Hyogo in the next round. Fukushima will play on the road against Kagawa FA in Takamatsu and is hoping to win this game.
