Regular Season Round 1: Isa Town - Muharraq 62-96

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Isa Town (0-1) in Issa Town on Thursday night. Hosts were rolled over by Al-Muharraq (1-0) 96-62. Al-Muharraq dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Isa Town's 30. They outrebounded Isa Town 55-26 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Al-Muharraq looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Al-Muharraq made 9 blocks. American forward Sean Williams (208-86, college: Boston Coll.) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points, 22 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 blocks for the winners. Ahmed Aldurazi chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Al-Muharraq players scored in double figures. Tunisian Ahmed Salman produced 27 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Abdulla Alromaihi added 4 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al-Muharraq is looking forward to face Al-Ahli in Manama in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Isa Town will play at home against Al-Najma (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
