There was no surprise when Valencia Basket (0-2) was defeated at home by Real Madrid (2-0) 88-70 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid. Valencia Basket was better in fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Valencia Basket to just 5 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Valencia Basket 37-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was international point guard Sergio Llull (190-87) who scored 17 points and 6 assists. American-Slovenian Anthony Randolph (211-89, college: LSU) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Five Real Madrid players scored in double figures.
