Regular Season Round 4: RAC Basket - Angers 80-91

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Etoile Angers and 11th ranked Rueil had identical 1-2 record. But Rueil was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Angers 91-80 on Friday night. Etoile Angers made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Etoile Angers outrebounded Rueil 39-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Rueil's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Kyle Tresnak (209-92, college: Weber St.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds and Antoine Wallez (204-96) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Etoile Angers' coach Laurent Buffard used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Senegalese guard Lamine Sambe (188-89) responded with 23 points and forward Masse Doumbe (203-87, college: Keiser) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Etoile Angers (2-2) moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Rueil dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. Etoile Angers will face Toulouse (#6) on the road in the next round. Rueil will play against La Charite (#7) and hope to win that game.
