Regular Season Round 1: Akita NH - Ryukyu GK 67-84

An interesting game was also a 17-point tough home loss of Akita Happinets in a game versus undefeated Ryukyu GK (#5) 84-67. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. International guard Narito Namizato (172-89) nailed a double-double by scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists for the winning side and American forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: Arizona St.) accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Point guard Takuya Nakayama (182-94) came up with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals and American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Akita Happinets in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Akita Happinets will play again against Ryukyu GK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
