But Cornella was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Zaragoza 82-73 on Saturday night. It was a good game for Venezuelan power forward Jose Ascanio (204-96) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Javier Garcia (187-1) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Olivar players scored in double figures. Forward Nacho Marin (200-93) answered with 15 points and center Alexandre Sanmartin (201-84) added 10 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Cornella. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Olivar will face Salou (#7) at home in the next round. Cornella will play against Esparreguera (#8) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
