Regular Season Round 3: Panteras - Amazonas 81-65

An interesting game for Panteras (5-0) which hosted Amazonas (2-3). Panteras had an easy win 81-65. Panteras dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Amazonas' 32. Panteras forced 31 Amazonas turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan Nathaly Malpica who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 assists and 6 steals. Guard Ileana Guerrero chipped in 23 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Marilu Martinez who recorded 16 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and Maria Garcia added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four Amazonas players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Panteras' next round opponent will be Universitarias (#6) which should be theoretically an easy game. Amazonas will play against Atletico and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
