Very expected game when 8th ranked Feurs EF (2-2) was defeated at home by top-ranked Souffelweyersheim (4-0) 71-56 on Saturday. Souffelweyersheim outrebounded Feurs EF 38-19 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American-DR Congolese forward Cedric Kuakumensah (204-93, college: Brown) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and Jason Bach (198-87) who added 15 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Souffelweyersheim's coach Stephane Eberlin used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Constantin Minla-Avoundi (186-96, college: N.Iowa Area CC) responded with 10 points and Sammy Girma (203-89, college: Cochise CC) scored 11 points. Souffelweyersheim have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group A leader, which they share with Saint-Quentin and Orchies. Newly promoted Feurs EF dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. Souffelweyersheim will face Charleville-Mezieres (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Feurs EF will play against the league's leader Orchesien BC and hope to win that game.
