Regular Season Round 4: Dijon - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 81-78

Date: October 6, 2018
Important game to mention about took place in Dijon. Top-ranked JDA Dijon (4-0) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 12th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (1-3) 81-78 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Pau-Lacq-Orthez was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason, agency: Inception Sports) who scored that evening 15 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) supported him with 15 points and 6 rebounds. JDA Dijon's coach Laurent Legname allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 14 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists by Venezuelan-American Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) did not help to save the game for Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (208-91) added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Five JDA Dijon and four Pau-Lacq-Orthez players scored in double figures. JDA Dijon keeps a position of league leader, which they share with ASVEL. Pau-Lacq-Orthez at the other side dropped to the fifteenth place with three games lost. JDA Dijon will play against JSF Nanterre (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against Levallois to get more than just one victory in their record.
