Regular Season Round 3: Alfinden - Vive El Masnou 84-68

There was no surprise when Vive El Masnou (0-3) lost to Alfinden (2-0) in Zaragoza 68-84 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Alfinden. Vive El Masnou was better in second period 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alfinden dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Vive El Masnou's 22. They outrebounded Vive El Masnou 49-15 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for power forward Jose Malo (203-96) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Roberto Perez (192-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Alfinden players scored in double figures. Alfinden's coach Javi Lopez used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Francesc Gotzens (-94) answered with 36 points (!!!) and point guard Carles Olivares (178-95) added 10 points in the effort for Vive El Masnou. Alfinden will face Sant Adria (#5) on the road in the next round. Vive El Masnou will play against Sant Josep (#12) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
