Regular Season Round 3: Atletico - Correcaminos 26-69

An interesting game for Correcaminos (4-1) which played road game in against Atletico (2-3). Correcaminos had an easy win 69-26. Correcaminos held Atletico to an opponent 16.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Correcaminos forced 27 Atletico turnovers and outrebounded them 52-37 including a 24-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for guard Lirieth Gonzalez (170-1) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. Veronica Vega (-90) helped adding 11 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was center Ericka Gonzalez with 2 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Yamila Jonas scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Correcaminos will play against Aguilas (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Atletico will play against Amazonas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
