Regular Season Round 1: HoNsU - Pyrinto 70-89

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of HoNsU (1-1) in Helsinki on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Pyrinto (2-0) 89-70. The game was mostly controlled by Pyrinto. HoNsU managed to win third quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 53.1 percentage. Mirko Lahteenmaki (185-0) stepped up and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and point guard Jasper Koskinen (183-1) chipped in 18 points. At the losing side guard Tiitus Kuukkanen (193-0) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Patrik Poutiainen (194-1) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. HoNsU's coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Pyrinto will meet at home KTP in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. HoNsU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Helsinki to the arena MuKi.
