Regular Season Round 4: Boulogne - Sorgues BC 89-100

There was no surprise in Boulogne-sur-Mer where bottom-ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (0-4) was defeated by seventh ranked Sorgues BC (3-1) 100-89 on Saturday. Sorgues BC made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game, while SO Maritime Boulogne only scored ten points from the stripe. They outrebounded SO Maritime Boulogne 40-25 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Sorgues BC especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. SO Maritime Boulogne was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Cecil Williams (198, college: Cent.Michigan) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and center David Conde (202-92) who added 20 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side naturalized Cameroonian guard Ralph Temgoua (194-87, college: St.Lawrence) responded with 25 points and guard Timothe Vergiat (186-98) scored 16 points. Five Sorgues BC and four SO Maritime Boulogne players scored in double figures. Sorgues BC have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with Besancon. Loser SO Maritime Boulogne still closes the standings with four games lost. Sorgues BC will face Kaysersberg (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. SO Maritime Boulogne will play against ALS Basket and hopes to get finally their first victory.
