Regular Season Round 2: Koshigaya A. - Tokyo Cinq R. 91-75

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tokyo: Koshigaya A. (#1) and Tokyo Cinq R. (#8). Koshigaya A. (4-0) smashed visiting Tokyo Cinq R. (0-2) by 16 points 91-75. Koshigaya A. dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Cinq R.'s 30 and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. Forward Deangelo Kirkland (203, college: Columbus St., agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and center Joe Wolfinger (216-85, college: Citadel) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Tokyo Cinq R. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Koshigaya A. are looking forward to face Iwate Big Bulls (#5) on the road in the next round. Tokyo Cinq R.'s supporters also look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Tokyo Excel..
