Regular Season Round 8: Atletico Nacional - Caballos 72-94

Date: October 6, 2018
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Aguilas (4-4) against fifth ranked Caballos (3-5) on Saturday night. Host Aguilas were crushed by Caballos in Panama City 94-72. Caballos looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American power forward Ike Okoye (206-86, college: Boise St.) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American-Puerto Rican forward Angel Matias (193-92, college: Georgia South) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Daniel King (203-87, college: Texas Southern) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and American swingman Lovell Cook (201-90, college: New Orleans) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Caballos and four Aguilas players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Caballos maintains fifth position with 3-5 record. Loser Aguilas dropped to the fourth place with four games lost.
