Regular Season Round 3: Baskonia - Gipuzkoa 85-65

Very predictable result when Baskonia (2-1) rolled over Gipuzkoa (0-3) in Vitoria 85-65 on Sunday. Baskonia looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Gipuzkoa was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for German center Johannes Voigtmann (211-92) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Georgian Tornike Shengelia (206-91) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Baskonia players scored in double figures. American guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) answered with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Montenegrin center Blagota Sekulic (210-82) added 9 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Gipuzkoa. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Baskonia will face Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#12) in Madrid in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gipuzkoa will play at home against CB Canarias (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
