Regular Season Round 3: Daimiel - Rivas 85-76

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Rivas (1-2) lost on the road to Daimiel (1-2) 85-76 on Sunday. Daimiel looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American guard Anthony Holliday (191-92, college: Lamar) who led his team to a victory with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Ruben Bruno (182-92) contributed with 16 points for the winners. American center Julien Sargent (211-91, college: Mobile, AL) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Guillermo Ordas (183-92) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Rivas. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Daimiel will face Casvi (#14) in Villaviciosa in the next round. Rivas will play at home against Gran Canaria II where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
