HyPo used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Kotka 80-68. Peli-Karhut was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 45-32 second half run of HyPo. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American guard Randi Brown (170-96, college: New Orleans) supported her with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four HyPo players scored in double figures.
