Regular Season Round 1: VL Pesaro - Pistoia Basket 83-77

VL Pesaro used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Pistoia 83-77 on Sunday night. VL Pesaro made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for Lithuanian center Egidijus Mockevicius (208-92, college: Evansville) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. American guard James Blackmon (193-95, college: Indiana) contributed with 21 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. American point guard Kerron Johnson (183-90, college: Belmont) answered with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Gambian forward Ousman Krubally (202-88, college: Georgia St.) added 9 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Pistoia Basket. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. VL Pesaro will face Happy Casa BR (#14) in Brindisi in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pistoia Basket will play at home against Umana Venezia and hope to win that game.
