Regular Season Round 2: Nagoya DD - SeaHorses 96-93

Important game to mention about took place in Nagoya. Diamond Dolphins (2-0) saved a 3-point victory at home edging Aishin Sea Horses (0-2) 96-93 on Sunday evening. Strangely Aishin Sea Horses outrebounded Diamond Dolphins 38-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. Diamond Dolphins players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Aishin Sea Horses were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American Markeith Cummings (198-88, college: Kennesaw St.) notched 24 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and guard Taito Nakahigashi (190-92) supported him with 12 points and 4 assists. Four Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. Even 32 points by American forward James Southerland (203-90, college: Syracuse) did not help to save the game for Aishin Sea Horses. The former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) added 24 points for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Diamond Dolphins will play against Ryukyu GK in Okinawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aishin Sea Horses will have a break next round.
