Regular Season Round 4: Toyotsu FE - Tokyo HT 114-77

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Nagoya. Second ranked Toyotsu FE faced 4th ranked Tokyo HT. Host Toyotsu FE (3-1) smashed guests from Tokyo (1-3) 114-77. Toyotsu FE dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo HT's 44. They outrebounded Tokyo HT 36-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. Toyotsu FE shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Tokyo HT's players. The game was dominated by American players. Center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: Washington St.) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Toyotsu FE's coach Ryuji Watanabe felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and swingman LeBryan Nash (201-92, college: Oklahoma St.) added 15 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toyotsu FE maintains second position with 3-1 record behind leader Cyberdyne IR, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Tokyo HT keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Yamagata. Toyotsu FE is looking forward to face Tokyo Z (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tokyo HT will play against Fukushima and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
