Kouvottaret (1-1) recorded a loss in Vimpeli on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by ViVe (1-1) 78-66. The game was mostly controlled by ViVe. Kouvottaret managed to win fourth quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game, while Kouvottaret only scored four points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was American forward Alisia Jenkins (186-94, college: S.Florida) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import swingman Amy Griffin (183-96, college: La Salle, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Taeler Deer (165-96, college: Texas St.) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and center Claire Lamunun (185-93) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Kouvottaret's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. ViVe is looking forward to face Helmi Basket (#8) in Helsinki in the next round where they are favorite. Kouvottaret will play at home against Espoo Team (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
