Regular Season Round 4: Kumamoto V. - Ehime OV 80-75

Bottom-ranked Orange Vikings (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 80-75 loss to third ranked Kumamoto V. (3-1) in Kumamoto on Sunday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Kumamoto V. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Yoshihiko Toshino (186-92) fired 31 points for the winners. Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Cory Johnson (202-88, college: Valparaiso) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Orange Vikings' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kumamoto V. moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Orange Vikings still closes the standings with four games lost. Kumamoto V. will face Nishinomiya S. (#6) in Hyogo in the next round. Orange Vikings will play at home against the league's leader Cyberdyne IR and look forward to get finally their first victory.
